Anxiety Table, 2021
Steel Bars
18" x 18" x 6"

Born out of my recurrent use of anxiety sketches. The transformation of anxiety into a physical object.
The use of line that the table emphasizes creates a stark point of tension. The absence of a complete table top, rendering it the functionality of the table, almost, useless. This metaphorically calls attention to anxiety creating dysfunction; functionality of the mind and body during periods of distress. What weight can we bear? The stability that a table itself references itself contradicts the notion of anxiety. The points themself dip 3", on the verge of touching.
